Cow - Horizon Project
2006-2005, various places, the Netherlands

This project was conceived as part of the 2nd International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam. Three eight-metre-high inflatable cows are placed along the main highways in the Randstad – the conglomeration of cities that together make up a metropole - as reminders of the unique Dutch horizon. They draw attention to the fact that this ancient manmade landscape is not only of great cultural importance but also essential as a place for self-reflection.
